Okay, I'm not really sure where this goes, but fan fiction is writing so I'm putting it here. Anyway, I've come across an abreviation used to describe some fan fiction sites and I'm hoping someone here can tell me what it means. Wow! I've found some really odd sites out there. I'm talking graphical highly adult ones and this abreviation may have to do with something like that, but it would help if I knew what it at least meant.

Okay, in a description of a site sometimes I come across something like:
...a place for YAOI and fan fiction...Okay, I'll separate the letters in case that helps a bit.
Y A O I

I'm not going to put what I think it is cause I know I'm really off here.
Anyway, can someone please tell me what this so it quits annoying me or so I can disreguard those sites if I need to.

According to Google, it's Japanese for "no climax, no point, no meaning" which in the context of a fan fiction site probably makes sense. The actual Japanese is "yama nashi, ochi nashi, imi nashi". Is that what you meant?

two defination for ya.

yaoi refers to A Japanese acronym used to denote male/male relationship stories of a very adult nature. When the term is used absolutely correctly it means graphic fanwork stories like yaoi fanfiction or doujinshi, although in the West the term yaoi is often used in places where shounen ai would be more appropriate. The people involved in a yaoi (or, less frequently, shounen ai) relationship are indicated in the form "Name1xName2" or "Name1/Name2." Name1 is the aggressor (seme) in the relationship, Name2 is the more passive character (uke). Yaoi is very popular among fangirls, and fanwork from the most innocent and non-sexual of sources can often contain graphic yaoi porn.

general Definition of Yaoi
Yaoi (¤ä¤ª¤¤) is a publishing genre which originated in Japan and often encompasses manga, d¨jinshi, anime, and fan art. It is homosexual love between male characters and is sexually explicit.
Some Westerners consider yaoi to be synonymous with sh¨nen-ai or BL (Boy's Love), which contains similar themes; however by definition this is incorrect, and sh¨nen-ai material is not sexually explicit. Yaoi has spread beyond Japan; yaoi material is available in the United States, as well as other Western and Eastern nations worldwide.

Okay, thanks for clearing that up. I thought sort of it might be something in that line, but I wasn't sure. I had come across a Lord of the Rings site cause I like that series and that abreviation wasn't in its description, but I think it should have been for part of the site. I don't mind writing like that as long as its done with taste and not highly, highly descriptive as most people understand the basics of sex between same or opposites.
Stupid! I should've just googled it and I never thought of that until I posted this here.
Thanks for the help.

Not necessarily, If the site does not focus on yaoi, then it shouldn’t contain it. The individual stories that contains yaoi should have the label.
